Music

Music at Darell Primary and Nursery School

‘Without music, life would be a mistake.’   Friedrich Nietzsche

‘Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand.’ Stevie Wonder

At Darell Primary and Nursery School, we believe that music should be an enjoyable learning experience for all.  By exposing children to a diverse range of musical experiences, we aim to enrich children’s understanding of music, inspire self-expression and ultimately promote a lifelong love of music.

As musicians, our children will be encouraged to listen, sing, compose and play, in a range of musical styles. As performers, they will build self-confidence and learn to reflect, evaluate and appreciate their own performances as well as others.  As a school, we will use music to connect with each other and the wider community.
