Headteacher’s Letter

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week saw the first of our fortnightly ‘plogging’ events. It was fantastic to see our children out in the community; jogging, collecting litter and making a difference to our local area. Our school council members were excellent representatives for the school and were shocked at the amount of litter they found in the local area. Please see the school’s Twitter feed for more information (@DarellSchool). This week, our children have also participated in the Borough’s Cross Country run in Richmond Park. In cold, muddy conditions, the children ran 2.2 kilometres with some of the course including significant hills! Once again, the children represented the school fantastically and we were very impressed with the effort they put in. A big thank you to Mr Fitzgerald for all the organisation that went into the event.

Looking ahead to next week, it is going to be another busy week at school! Year 2 will be visiting Kew Archives on Tuesday and Wednesday and our Basketball teams will be representing the school at two separate events! We are also very excited about the Headteacher interviews that will be taking place on Wednesday and Thursday. We look forward to welcoming the candidates to the school and are confident that we will find the right person for the role. Finally, please do add the dates for our school Christmas events to your diary as we know how busy the festive period gets.

Kind regards,

Paul Gilbert & Joe Porter
