Headteachers Update

As we reach the end of term (still Monday & Tuesday to go!), I would like to take the time to reflect on what a busy yet successful year it has been for the school. Just this week, we have had our Year 6 disco, Year 5’s trip to the Water & Steam Museum, our end of term music concert and of course Year 6’s fantastic production of ‘Shakespeare Rocks.’ We are incredibly proud of all that we have achieved this year and one of the ways we can celebrate our successes is by sharing our end of Key Stage 2 data measures (please see table below). Well done to the children, parents and staff who have worked tirelessly to make this year so successful.

As the academic year ends, we inevitably have to say our goodbyes to some members of our community. We are very sad to see Mrs Slater, Miss Finn, Miss Wilson & Miss Maria leave the team at Darell. We wish them all the best in their next ventures and hope to see them again in the future! We also wish all of our Year 6 children well as they make their move to secondary schools. They have been fantastic ambassadors for the school this year and we are hugely proud of all they achieved. Finally, we would like to extend our good wishes to any families that are moving on from Darell. Thank you for all you have given to our school community.

Looking ahead, we have an exciting programme of redevelopment happening in the school holidays. We are still looking for volunteers so if you have any time available, please do sign up for a slot using the following link.

As a school, we are pleased to share that Mr Porter will continue to provide support for 3 days a week in September and we have been very grateful to welcome Mrs Claridge back into our team after her maternity leave. I would also like to extend my personal thanks to all of you in our school community who have provided invaluable support over the course of this year. Have a wonderful summer break. We look forward to seeing you back, refreshed and ready for an exciting new academic year.
