Headteacher Message

Hello all,

I have just returned from a sneaky peek at the Nativity production and I can report that you are in for a treat.  It is so lovely to see our youngest children so confident.  Standing tall, delivering their lines and singing. It really does make you feel happy. I would like to thank those parents who kindly moved the day they were due to watch the production.  It means that we have been able to spread the numbers out over Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Now, I love logistics but Laura Gavin likes them more and I would like to thank her and Lara for contacting people reissuing tickets and generally being brilliant. Can I remind all parents that we would like you to take a lateral flow test on the morning of your attendance and wear a mask throughout the production.  Also, an early reminder, please be aware that there are a number of parents in attendance supporting their children so please stay seated and ensure everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the performance.

Today has been a good day.  The sun actually shone at lunchtime  and this morning I met with two parents who are keen to get the parents association up and running.  A general consensus has emerged.that the PSA is to be run by committee and that it is too much for just one or two people to drive.  A lot of parents want to support but understandably are unable to commit to every event.  I met with Laura Martin and Terri Sigamoney who have kindly said that they will help organise a committee of people to support events.  We have already planned an event for each of the remaining half terms and are planning to end the year with a summer fair extravaganza to rival the best there have ever been! Please volunteer to support where you can.  Watch this space for more information.

This week, I have continued to be amazed by the work that the children produce in class. In Year 5, the children have been creating videos about the impact climate change is having on the planet and how small changes can help. I was particularly impressed with one video which has been shared on the website. Please follow this link to watch it, it is highly professional and brilliantly narrated.

It is nearly time for our reading assembly so I will sign off for now.  I intend to take my positivity into the weekend and I hope you can too.  Have a lovely weekend.

Mr Porter.

Darwin - If animals could talk would we all become vegetarians?
