Headteacher Message
Hello all,
I hope you are well. We have had another busy week at Darell School with many highlights. From a personal level I will list just a few and you will realise how lucky I am to do my job.
-
The re-launch of our merit system. It has been so lovely to see so many merit points awarded this week.
-
Analysing the improvement in whole school attendance. Well done everyone.
-
Working with the extended leadership team after school on Wednesday. Such knowledge, such excellence.
-
Spending time in Nursery helping to organise a picnic for the various animals on display.
-
Supervising Year 6 for their reward lunchtime at North Sheen Rec.
-
Hearing staff call parents to congratulate them on their child's attendance.
-
Attending a Full governor body meeting with our amazing volunteer governors.
-
Seeing a good turnout to the SEN coffee morning run by a volunteer.
-
Being approached by a child who really wanted to deliver the Reception star of the week certificate with me. We will be doing this shortly
-
Moonwalking with a Year 5 child. Well I had a go but it was great to see their skill!
These are just a few of the highlights. My job is never mundane. You never really know what your day will look like and that is because we have so many amazing children who possess so many skills. For example before this week I did not know that my moonwalking friend also has an exceptional singing voice. I have pointed him firmly in the direction of Mrs Carters choir and I am expecting a showstopping solo from him in an upcoming production. Assembly is calling so i will leave it there. To be honest this is also a highlight of my week especially when the music is blaring and we are all dancing out of assembly into our weekends!
Have a lovely weekend with your precious families.
