Headteacher Message
Hello all,
It was lovely to see so many of you at our International Day event, yesterday. It is one of my favourite events of the year because it is a chance to celebrate the diversity that makes this school great. There was food from all over the world and so there should have been.

In a school of 190 children, we have a grand total of 29 languages spoken. This makes me so happy that I am going to type them all.
Albanian – Shiqip/Amharic/Arabic/Bengali/Dutch-Flemish/English/French/German/Hebrew/Hungarian/Hindi/Italian/Japanese/Kurdish/Marathi/Nepali/Pashto/Pakkhto/Polish/Portugese/Persian-Farsi/Russian/Slovak/Somali/Spanish/Siraki/Swedish/Turkish/Ukranian/Urdu
It is really nice to hear these languages spoken in and around the school. This is so important in terms of celebrating your culture and identity and there are also studies that also show it helps with brain development.
Of course, events like the International Day would not work without the hard work of the PSA and I would like to say a big thank you to all involved for organising this event. This leads me onto letting you know where the money that is raised by the PSA actually goes. We are playing a bit of catch with money owed to the school, but here are some of the figures down to the last penny:
-
£1,362.89 for books ordered between January and March 2024 (These were distributed across the school, and we have been benefiting from these for some time)
-
£362 for the Christmas disco DJ (You would have to pay me more to deliver this!!)
-
£500 for books for the book fair 2025
-
£730 in total for £550 for books for the book fair 2026 and £180 for the Richmond Fair pitch hire 2026 – What a great event this was.
Importantly, we have, to the last penny, £6,627.52 left in the school fund. We are going to consult with our children and use some of this money to buy playground equipment for all of our playgrounds. Thank you all for contributing to the events that are run by the PSA. Not only does it help build our community, but it really is a vital source of revenue in this era of tight school budgets and is always used to benefit our children.
On that upbeat note, have a lovely weekend with your precious families.
