Headteacher Message

Hello all,

I am going to try and avoid talking about the weather for a couple of sentences. So, I have big news for you. Our extensive data analytic team asked for a touch base meeting this morning and I cleared my diary. They reported that the readership of the newsletter has altered since moving to Wednesday publication. It has improved dramatically! I am really pleased to report that both of you can now fully enjoy the newsletter. Boom, Boom! (poor attempt a joke to give light relief from the temperature in here). In all seriousness, we moved the publication day because we wanted to increase readership and this has happened. 

I am therefore hoping that a number of you get to read this. We will be extending the optional early pick up to Friday and crossing our fingers that the weather forecast for the next few weeks stays as cool as it is. We will be sending out a link to a google form to help us plan, please do keep an eye on your emails. Firstly, thanks for your quick responses to the original poll we sent out. It enabled us to plan effectively and ensure that our provision in the afternoon was excellent. I have just returned from the coolest place in the school, the main hall, and our remaining Key Stage 2 children are having a lovely and relaxing time. Construction, board games and art are all taking place. What is really nice is that year group boundaries don’t exist and everyone is getting on. 

Please, please, please send your child in on Thursday and Friday morning. It is really important that they do not miss out on their core learning (Maths, English) as they risk falling behind. Today we have 78% attendance and this is usually in the 90% range. Some people have made the choice not to bring their children in at all. I understand why, but feel that we have offered good options and, I will say it again, they risk missing out on key learning if they are not in school.
