Headteacher Message

Hello all,

I hope you are well. The sun is out, and the world is turning.  Good times ahead. Amazing attendance today everyone – 97.7%! I am actually going to call this 98%. I think that effectively means only 5 children are not in school today. Well done, to you all.  We had a governor visit today to look at maths teaching in the school, and it got me thinking; we give tours to prospective parents, borough VIP’s, etc but what about our current parents?  You don’t currently get the opportunity to see the excellent teaching in the school. So from next year (I haven’t actually told anybody else about this as I tend to have an idea and run with it immediately) I am going to set up opportunities each term for a school tour for existing parents.  Why?  Well, the feedback we get from everyone who is given a tour is always very good, and I want to share this with you. Also, it will be an opportunity to say thank you for continuing to send your child to this school and a chance to have an informal chat about whatever is on your mind. I honestly do feel very lucky to have such a lovely group of parents and carers and this may be a further way of continuing the partnership that benefits your children.

Right, I had better go and check with the staff team regarding my idea, but I am sure that they will be on board.

Have a lovely rest of the week. Take care in the sun.

Office Updates

Ordering Your Child's School Meal

At Darell, all school lunches must be pre-booked through the Arbor parent portal.

To select meals for your child, log in to your Arbor account. Click on the orange "Quick Actions" tab in the top left corner, then choose "Meals" and "Summer Meal Choices." By clicking on the dropdown arrow, you will see a list of meal options, including the option for a packed lunch.

School Office Entrance Gate: New Button Release

We would like to inform all parents and carers about a change to our school office entrance gate.

You no longer need to type in a code to exit. Instead, simply press the green button located on the wall to the left of the building. The gate remains open for plenty of time once pressed, allowing you to leave the premises safely.

We hope this update makes getting in and out of the school a lot easier for everyone moving forward!
