Headteacher Message
Hello all,
What is going on? It is Wednesday and the newsletter is in your inbox. We are hoping that a Wednesday newsletter will get more readership. Personally, I need to get in the cycle with this because reflection often happens at the end of the week. I will do my best.
I have just returned from our Wednesday Key Stage 2 assembly and I have a bounce in my step. At least 8 children approached me after the assembly because they wanted to ask a question or tell me about an experience they had which was related to what they had just seen. We really try to make our assemblies interactive and meaningful. It is quite an honour, that is not bestowed on many, to have an audience of that size listening to what you are sharing. Our assemblies are very different to the ones we used to sit through and that is because I remember being quite bored in a number of them. The majority of our assemblies include the opportunity to discuss what is being shown with a partner. Your children are great at this and the respect that is shown to me and other presenters is shown when they contribute to the assembly. The ability to stand up in front of an audience of your peers and confidently speak should not be underestimated and you would be extremely impressed with how your children can already talk in front of large audiences.
You will shortly be receiving a link to this year’ s parent survey. Please do have a go. We are a reflective bunch here and we like to celebrate our successes and also continually look to improve. As you know, you are always welcome to come and offer feedback at any time and this survey is just a way to do it at your leisure.
Have lovely………this is where it gets tricky.. Rest of the week? ….Thursday and Friday?.......... Weekend? Leave me to reflect on the sign off and have a great week.
