Headteacher Message
This week’s highlight was welcoming so many of you into school for the parent-teacher consultations. It was fantastic to see so many of you take the time to attend the meetings. As teachers, these one-on-one meetings are invaluable. They give an opportunity to look at the progress and successes of your child and reflect on how they have settled into their class and new academic year. We hope your conversation gave you a clear, positive insight into where your child is shining and offered practical, simple ways for you to continue to be their biggest champion in their learning at home.
Communication between home and school is extremely important for your child's success. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to speak to the teacher at the end of the day for a quick chat, or, for anything longer, email info@ at any point. Your email will be passed onto your child's class teacher.

In assemblies this week we have continued our theme of ambition and looking at how we can be ambitious learners in all aspects of our lives. We looked at the impact of perspective and how one small word can change our perspective and thinking. Our small word is, ‘yet’
I can’t do that. I can’t do that, yet.
With the younger children, we read the picture book, The Magical Yet, and I challenged them to use that word next time they are faced with a challenge. It is a really great example of how changing your mindset and perspective on something can help you achieve and overcome challenges. With the older children, we looked at the importance of having a growth mindset and not a fixed mindset, in order to challenge ourselves to be the best learners we can be.
Today, many of us are spending the afternoon thinking about and celebrating one of our very much missed parents, Sarah Fisher, who was always so very positive and warm. She certainly was a shining example of someone who faced every challenge with positivity and energy. We are thinking of her and her beautiful family as they say goodbye to her at her funeral service this afternoon.
I’m signing this email off with something that brought me happiness this week and that was a story written and illustrated by Sofia, in year 2. Here is the first publication of, The Funny Bear.
