Headteacher Message

Dear all,

Please bear with this newsletter.  It is going to be short.  We are in the middle of logistically interesting times as we check the hourly weather report and decide how best to prepare for the picnic.  My one message would be - please bear with us!  The weather has proved a problem, and invariably it will be organised chaos to begin with.  But we are good people, and you are good people, so it will work out.  There is some amazing food on offer and the weather will not affect this.

An early bit of health and safety advice.  We are not planning a fire alarm but if there is one please head out of the building towards whichever playground you are nearest to.

Look forward to seeing you later.  We will inform you at pickup about how this party is going to get started!  Thank you in advance for your patience.

Office Updates

Arbor Parent Portal Update

We’re excited to announce that the Arbor App now supports biometric login!

We’ve taken onboard your feedback and from today, logging into the Arbor App will be a lot easier for your parents and guardians.

Updates include:

  • No more entering login details every time - the App will now save parents’ email address and password, eliminating the need to re-enter them each time they login
  • Parents can use their existing login method - whether that's face or fingerprint recognition, or their device’s pin code
  • For parents with children at different schools, it's now easier and faster to switch between them

The Reading Corner

Welcome to our weekly section of the newsletter all about reading. Every week, we will share a question (or two) with you about the book your child is reading in school. Please use these questions to help you find out a little more about what your child has been reading in school and continue to develop their love of reading.

Wonder - In the story, 'Stanley's Stick', what 'stick activity' does Stanley do with his old stick? What stick activity could he do with his new stick?

Peake - Grace Darling was a hero. Do you agree? Explain your reasons.

Weir - How do you think the people who lived in the city felt about the extraordinary gardener? Why do you think this is?

Thunberg - Do you think the Space Bat Angel Dragon is happy now?

Darwin - Was Sacagewea a hero?

Attenborough - What has been your favourite text this year? What did you like about it? Can you find a similar book or a book by the same author in your local library to read over the summer?

Parks - Why do you think Shakespeare used a scene with three witches to begin this play?
